Welcome to my Family History Website: aka the “Parker / McGann / Strettle / Morgan Family History Website” - the combined Family History of myself and my wife.

I stumbled into this a few years ago without knowing much about my family history and knowing nothing at all of how all-consuming it was possible for Family History research to become.

Like many other people I only started to research the Family History after most of the older generation of my relatives had died, and so lost the opportunity to pick their memories – and this also meant that I missed being able to tell them about their forebears: I'm sure that they would have liked to know “where they came from”, even though the family roots are fairly humble…..

Those people who undertake family history research will know that the task is never finished, no matter how much detail is uncovered and documented – there will always be another branch or generation to investigate, so this site is very much work-in-progress and will be updated on a periodic basis – if you think that you might have links to the family I’d be delighted to hear from you (link below!).

The family tree currently includes 1208 individuals – whilst I have undertaken some “lateral” research and found details of cousins families my tree primarily contains successive generations of the families of direct ancestors (although I have included members of the extended Strettle family who are descended from Joseph Strettle, as this was a joint research activity with other Strettle relatives!).

The start points of the research were the individual families of mine and my wife’s parents – hence the focus on the Parker, McGann, Strettle, and Morgan families.

As I’ve already indicated, all these families have relatively humble roots – I’ve not identified any knights of the realm, field marshals, Empire-builders, “famous” (or even “infamous”) people of any sort, but there are some interesting individual life stories - at least I think so, and if you are related to any of the families you might think so as well!
